L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara

For many busy Moms like me and many of you that wear make up, if you don’t have time for anything else you apply mascara. If nothing else, it makes you “appear” awake, even if you’re really not, like when you’re waiting at the bus stop before 8am with your kids. Yes, I must have mascara on even then. I even wear it when I go to the gym (whenever I go, that is, but that’s another hub…).

Smudgy Mascara
Smudgy Mascara

I have searched high and low, far and wide for at least 20 years for mascara that will not smudge. I’ve used mascaras that promised they would give me beautiful, long, lush lashes just like in the magazine ads with the models wearing carefully applied falsies (like we don’t know those magazine lashes are fake – puh leeze!). I’ve used Covergirl, Revlon, Max Factor, Rimmel and Clinique among others over the years. Some of these mascaras really did give me long, lush lashes, but….they still smudged. That is the ultimate NO-NO for a mascara wearer! Let me introduce you to mascara that I found that I promise you will not smudge: L’OREAL DOUBLE EXTEND BEAUTY TUBES MASCARA. I stumbled upon this after seeing an ad for it in In Style Magazine last month. The ad said that the new “tube technology” is what kept the mascara from smudging. It sounded convincing so I decided to give it a try and lo and behold….the heavens opened…the angels began to sing “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Halle-lujah!”… after hours of wearing the mascara it did not smudge!! OMG! The mascara has two steps along with two brushes. You apply the white (gluey) solution first, and then coat it with the second brush; the actual mascara and you will be left with long, lush lashes that will not smudge. An added bonus to this product is that you can keep it on for 2 or 3 days and it will still look freshly applied. The only downside I found to this product was that it was hard to get the mascara off. I used Almay gel make up remover and Maybelline makeup remover and it was difficult getting the product off. The Almay simply did not work at removing the mascara. The Maybelline did work with a little extra effort. I just saturated a cotton ball and let it sit on my eye lash for about ten seconds and began to gently wipe the mascara away. All in all I find this to be a great product that does what the ad says it will do and I am very pleased with it. Hope this helps someone and saves you some money.
